College of the Ozarks, Greatest Generation tour:
On October 2nd, students and teachers of the College of the Ozarks left the United States for a trip of a lifetime. The group would meet up with
five US World War II veterans, who all served in the 101st Airborne Division, and visit the battlefields in Europe to see what these men have
done for the world as we know it today. The tour is organised by the College of the Ozarks and hosted by Ray and Cristy Pfeiffer, owners of
a battlefield tour organisation: WWII tours. Together with the veterans they will tell the students the stories of World War II. What the World
War has changed throughout the world? What impact did it have on daily life in Europe, but also in the US? You can imagine that there were a
lot of stories to tell and the students only had 14 days to suck it all up, write it down and pass it along for future generations.
The tourgroup visited areas of battle in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Germany. Mostly areas where the veterans, who accompanied the
students on the trip, had fought 66 years ago. It was a very emotional trip for the students and veterans.
Students of the College of the Ozarks wrote down their thoughts on a blog. If you’d like to read the stories and read their day to day experiences,
