Grebbeberg 2009
On 4 May, the Netherlands remembers her casualties of war, but also the men and women who helped liberate our
country in WWII. A few days after the activitities concerning may 4, I visited the Grebbeberg war cemetery.
In the first few days of the war, Dutch soldiers fought hard around the grounds of the cemetery. Over 420 Dutch soldiers
were killed in action defending the Grebbeberg from the Germans. At the war cemetery, over 800 Dutch soldiers are burried.
