Exhibition Remember September 1944 in Son:
September 2009 was a special year. The village of Son was liberated on September 17, 1944 by troops of the 101st
Airborne Division. For this special occasion, the foundation I am part of, organised an exhibition near the Son bridge.
The exhibition was opened by Ken Wooly, a British WWII veteran who resides in Son, the mayor of Son and Breugel and a special
guest: an American eagle.
We let the eagle fly in the keys to the exhibition, crossing the canal, just as the airborne troops did 65 years ago. We had a great time
welcoming visitors for 9 days. Below you find a slideshow of the exhibition.
