Transportation service for the liberators:

On 17 September 1944 paratroopers of the 101st Airborne Division landed in the fields just north of the Son forest.
When the paratroopers moved away from the dropzones towards their targets, the Dutch civilians met up with their
liberators. Some of the farmers in Son, who lived on the dropzone, offered the paratroopers a hand by carrying their
supplies and equipment.

Below you see pictures of the 506 PIR moving through the streets of Eindhoven with horse drawn carts.
Photo:
A partial of an Eindhoven map. Indicated with orange the route of the horse drawn carts. Follow the road from top to bottom. Every dot on the line is a photo location.
Orange dot 1: Frankrijkstraat, dot 2: Boschdijk, dot 3, Woenselse overweg and Parallelweg crossing, dot 4: de Wal, dot 5: Paradijslaan.

Notes clockwise starting top-left:
- Boschdijk: three paratroopers on a horse drawn cart pass two Dutch kids (Martina van Gevel)
- Frankrijkstraat: two horse drawn carts pass ms. Janssen’s house, number 82 (van Heeswijk)
